My Airplanes

Focke-Wulf   Ta-152H

This beautiful airplane is the pride of my hanger!  She was built by Ty Brown, of Kannapolis, N.C.  Ty converted Meister Scale FW-190D plans to create this one off masterpeice.   She has a 140" w.s., and is powered by a Quadra 75XL engine.

Me-262  Schwalbe (Swallow)

This outrageous war bird was built by my friend Joe Saitta, of Seminole, Fl.  She has a 105" w.s. and is powered by 2 -O.S. 91's.  This baby flies like she is on rails!   Joe is now kitting this impressive airplane with glass fuse and nacelles and built up wing.  It is suitable for DF or Turbine power as well.  Joe can be contacted at:   b17gjoe@juno.com   He also kits a really cool Me-163 Komet in 2 sizes, 105" w.s. and 85" w.s.   Tell him Rob sent you!

Here she is on a low pass at the 2003 WMWA Dino DiGiorgio Memorial Warbird Scale Classic in Gilbertsville, NY where she took the award for "Best Jet".

Me. Bf-109

This Bf.-109 was built by Lenny Smith of Kenner, LA.  modified from Meister Scale plans.  Lenny added a foam core wing to keep the weight down, and modified the fueselage to give a truer scale appearance.  She has a 102" w.s. and is powered by a Zenoah G-62.  This bird was just in the shop to repair some hanger and transport rash and get a new paint job.  Unfortunately, I lost her on the first flight after the rework.  She is still out in the woods somewhere...I hope I find her soon before the bears get to her!

12/16/03  Still M.I.A.  I have to wait until hunting season ends before I can resume the search and rescue mission!

05/24/04  Well, another day in the woods, and still haven't found her.  I will still keep trying until she is found.

Isn't that a beautiful sight!

Here she is with the new paint about 70% completed.

Focke Wulf FW-190 D9

This Meister Scale, FW-190 D9 "Dora", was also built by my good friend Joe Saitta of Seminole, FL.  She has a 102" w.s. and is powered by a Quadra 75. This one is currently in the shop for some repairs and new paint as well.  Her nose got busted last year in the trailer... bungee too tight and a big pothole!  Ouch!

5/17/04  The Dora is almost ready to fly again!  I'll have some pics of her in her new colors up soon.

Here she is in her new paint!  I used Behr exterior latex, and all insignia are sprayed on.  I make my own vinyl paint masks, which are super easy to make and use ... and painted on insignia are always more realistic than decals or vinyl graphics.

P-47 D11 Razorback

This sweet machine was built from Meister Scale plans by my very good friend and master builder, Fred Menna of N. Scituate, R.I.  If you are ever in a position to buy an airplane that was built by Fred, rest assured that you are getting a true work of art.  This Jug has a 102" w.s. and a Quadra 75 under the hood.

Lt. Col. Francis "Gabby" Gabreski's  P-47 D-11   "HVA"  S/N - "275510"  61st FS Halesworth, England,  January 1944.

6/10/04  -  Well she's getting there!  Here are a few shots of her at about 95% completion.

Mitsubishi Zero

This beauty is the prototype for the Meister Scale Zero built by Ty Brown of Kannapolis, N.C.   She has a 118" w.s. and a Quadra 75 moves her along very well.  This  beauty now belongs to Jeff Quesenberry up in warm, sunny Minnesota.

P-47 N Bubble Top

This massive bird is from Bud Nosen plans and spans 104".  She is powered by a Brison 5.8 engine which flies her with authority!  This Jug now resides in sunny Arizona!

In her element!

P-51 D

Another Bud Nosen design.  104" w.s. with a Quadra 75 for motivation.  Unfortunately, her engine quit just after take off...no altitude and no airspeed...you know the rest!

This "Stang" was just sold and will be moving to historic, Virginia where she will be repaired and be looking as good as new and in the air again in no time!

P-38 J

This sweet machine is a Zirolli P-38...well not just "a Zirolli P-38"...but "the Zirolli P-38" built and campaigned by Mr. Nick Zirolli himself!  I must havc had a mental lapse because I just sold this beautiful bird, she now resides in warn, sunny Texas!
